Land

The house sits on 3.5 acres. It is partially wooded and partially prairie. There are trails that run through the wooded areas so you can explore the whole property at your leisure. Around the house and driveway is landscaped with shrubs, flowers, retaining walls, and trees. There is a covered porch with plenty of room for a bistro set. The deck is a huge at 36x17 feet and opens into the backyard and driveway. There is a hammock and a playground area for children. The playground area could easily be converted into a patio or gazebo area. There is plenty of room for vegetable and flower gardens. The property has every tree in Iowa including many walnut trees. There is plenty of room for horses or small livestock. Stalls and pole barns could be built on the property without having to clear any trees.

Living Room/Deck

The living room is part of an open floor plan that is next to the kitchen. The walls are mocha and the carpet is a dark beige. It has a ceiling fan/light and a chandelier. There is plenty of natural sunlight coming into the room from the windows and the foyer. The living room is wired for cable or satellite. It is large and spacious. If you like to rearrange furniture then you will enjoy the openness of this room. The kitchen bar feeds right into the living room so the cook never feels separated from the rest of the family or guests while in the kitchen. The living opens to the deck in the back of the house.

Two Bedrooms and the Full Bath

There are two bedrooms at the other end of the house. Both have large closets. One bedroom is decorated and ready for your little princess. The other bedroom is a nursery that is calling to your little boy or girl. Don't have kids or your kids are older? There is just a wallpaper border around the rooms that will easily come down so you can quickly repaint. The full bathroom is located between the bedrooms and is also easily accessible from the living room and kitchen. It has a full tub and shower combo. It has a large vanity with plenty of storage underneath for your family to store their necessities. There are even extra towel racks! It is painted a calming cream color with easy to clean flooring.

Kitchen

Like to cook? I do too and when we designed this house I insisted on designing the kitchen myself. It is efficient, spacious, and convenient. All the appliances are from Sears and are only 4 years old. The microwave is over the stove so it frees up counter space. The dishwasher holds an average family's whole day of dishes and has a timer so it can run in the middle of the night. No more listening to the dishwasher or having to remember to turn it on before bed! The refrigerator has an automatic ice maker plus pull out shelves that can be removed or switched around to different heights. The oven is my pride and joy. It is a easy clean glass counter top. The oven is self cleaning and it has a warming drawer. Cook two dishes on different temperatures. There are tons of cabinets with pull out shelves in them. They are a light color that keeps the kitchen light and airy feeling and they come clean with the wipe of a wet rag. The counter space in unbelievable! You'll never run out of space, even on Thanksgiving. There is even room next to the pantry to put your computer desk and computer so you can grab all those great recipes off the Internet or keep an eye on the kid's Internet activity. There is a bar attached to the kitchen where you can have your breakfast and lunch meals or set up a nice buffet area for guests. This is truly one of my favorite rooms in the house (maybe because I spend so much time in there!).
